Scaffold Netting and Scaffold Debris Mesh
AGS scaffold netting is a knitted HDPE mesh fixed to the outside of scaffolds to contain dust, debris and small materials during construction, renovation and demolition. It reduces wind load compared with solid sheeting, lets light through to the work, and keeps the street and neighbouring property clean.
- Knitted HDPE
- UV-stabilised

What scaffold netting does
Scaffold netting is the outer skin of a working scaffold. It keeps dust, paint spray, plaster and small debris inside the work area, protects pedestrians and parked cars, and reduces complaints from neighbours. Because it is a knitted mesh rather than a solid sheet, it lets daylight in and lets part of the wind through, which keeps the load on the scaffold and its ties lower than with solid sheeting.
Choosing the right netting
Scaffold netting is specified by weight (grams per square metre), density, colour and roll size. Lighter grades are enough to contain debris on general building work. Denser, heavier grades hold back fine dust and spray during blasting, painting and plastering. Colours are chosen for visibility, branding or to blend with the surroundings. For work above public areas, add a debris net at platform level so falling objects are caught.
Wind load and scaffold design
Any cladding on a scaffold increases wind load. Before netting is fixed, the scaffold designer must confirm that the scaffold, its ties and its foundation are designed for it. Netting adds less load than solid sheeting, but it is not zero. After strong wind, check the netting and its fixings; a loose net flaps and catches more wind.
For distributors and scaffold companies
We manufacture scaffold netting in standard roll sizes and colours, and in custom colours and private label packaging for distributors and scaffold rental companies. See our contract manufacturing page for private label production.
Applications
- Facade scaffolds on new buildings and renovations
- Demolition scaffolds next to streets and neighbours
- Sandblasting, painting and plastering works
- Temporary site fences and hoarding infill
- Covering material stocks on site
Choosing the right net
| Scaffold netting | Solid scaffold sheeting | |
|---|---|---|
| Wind load on the scaffold | Lower | Higher, needs more ties |
| Light through to the work | Yes | Little or none |
| Dust containment | Good | Very good |
| Typical use | General construction and renovation | Blasting, asbestos and full encapsulation |
Installation
- Check with the scaffold designer that the scaffold and its ties are designed for the wind load of netting.
- Start at the top and unroll the netting down the face, overlapping adjacent widths.
- Fix the netting to ledgers and standards with ties at short, regular intervals.
- Close the corners and the bottom so debris cannot escape at the base.
- Inspect after storms and re-tie any loose sections.
Inspection, maintenance and service life
- Check fixings and overlaps weekly and after strong wind.
- Repair or replace torn sections promptly; a loose net catches more wind.
- Remove debris that collects at the base and on platforms.
- Remember that scaffold netting is not fall protection for people.
Frequently asked questions
Does scaffold netting protect against falls?
No. Scaffold netting contains dust and debris. Fall protection on scaffolds comes from guardrails, toe boards and, where needed, EN 1263-1 safety nets.
Which weight should I choose?
Lighter nets are used for general debris containment; heavier, denser nets for dust, blasting and painting. Tell us the work and we will suggest a weight.
Can you print our logo or use our colours?
Yes. On volume orders we produce custom colours and private label rolls with your packaging.
Do you export scaffold netting?
Yes. Rolls are packed for container shipment; we confirm loading quantities with each quote.
